Participants

The participants of the Humak courses were mainly students of Cultural Production. During the first year of the project there were 11 Finnish students taking the whole course of 7,5 ECTS, one of them being immigrant herself, and 12 international students who took the workshop and also took part in the final Forum Theatre event. They got 4 ECTS each. One ECTS means about 28 hours of students work.

With the second year course there were 4 Finnish students taking the whole course of 10 ECTS, one of them being immigrant herself, and 6 international students with two Finnish students who took the workshop and also took part in the final Forum Theatre event. They got 3 ECTS each.

There were about 40 persons following that lecture of Forum Theatre, which was broadcast simultaneously to other partners, half of which in Finland and half with other partners.

During the rehearsal period the participants gleaned the background information for forum theatre interviewing a total of 36 persons, both immigrants and authorities working with them. The most important partners were Venäläisen työn keskus (special labour centre for Russian speaking people, linked to the Russian Orthodox Church in Helsinki), The Russian Scientific and Cultural Centre in Helsinki, the International Cultural Centre Caisa, Russian Sadko-club Association and Kurdistan Centre. In the two final Forum Theatre Events there were 60 persons in the audience.
